1. Johnathan Thurston

Johnathan Thurston is a renowned former professional rugby league player. He was born on April 25, 1983, in Brisbane, Queensland. Thurston played the majority of his career for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL) and also represented the Australian national team and the Queensland state team in numerous matches.

2. Penny Wong

Penny Wong is an Australian politician who has gained prominence both domestically and internationally. She was born on November 5, 1968, in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and grew up in Flinders, Queensland. Wong is a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and has served as senator for South Australia since 2002. She has held several important positions in the Australian government, including Minister for Climate Change and Water, Minister for Finance, and Minister for Trade and Investment.

3. Roy Emerson

Roy Emerson is a former professional tennis player who achieved great success in the 1960s. He was born on November 3, 1936, in Blackbutt, Queensland, while his family later moved to Flinders. Emerson is considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time, having won a total of 28 Grand Slam titles in both singles and doubles events. His career achievements include 12 Grand Slam singles titles and 16 Grand Slam doubles titles.

Pippa Black is an accomplished Australian actress known for her roles in various television series. She was born on October 16, 1982, in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, but spent a significant part of her childhood in Flinders, Queensland. Black gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Elle Robinson in the long-running soap opera "Neighbours." Robert Schwarten is a former Australian politician who served as the Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly for Rockhampton for over two decades. He was born on June 6, 1950, in Yeppoon, Queensland. Despite not being born in Flinders, Schwarten became closely associated with the region through his political career, advocating for the interests and development of the area.
